The Commonplace Book Group
2nd Tuesdays at 7pm
The framework for this monthly book discussion group is a wee bit unconventional - read more about it here!
As of August 16, we are again requiring the wearing of face masks in our storefront. We are convinced by all we have read and the reports listened to that it's time to be proactive regarding the Delta variant of Covid-19. This is the least we can do to help keep our community - particularly our youngest and most vulnerable members - safe.
We thank you in advance for your kindness, patience, and understanding.
Our August "Ideal Bookshelf Project" Curator
~ Stefan Varnet ~
We were fortunate to have Stefan share a bit about his title selections for his shelf display this month at our very first meeting of the Commonplace Book Group on August 10 - and we plan to invite all future Ideal Bookshelf Project curators to this discussion group to tell us the story of their shelf curation...if they so desire :)
In case you've missed it - the Ideal Bookshelf Project is currently displayed atop our "bibliophile" cabinet adjacent to our check-out counter. And if you're interested in curating a shelf, please let us know and we'll add you to the list!
“When all is said and done, holding a printed book in my hands can be a sacred experience – the weight of the paper, the windy sound of pages turning, like a breeze. To me, a printed book is like a cathedral or a library or a beach
– a holy space.”
~ Anne Lamott
