For the love of books and community in the heart of Michigan
Woo Hoo! It's Indie Bookstore Day!
Come Celebrate, Shop, & Earn a Chance to Win a Big Basket Bundle of Ballyhoo Wonderfulness!
Indie Bookstore Day is an annual celebration of the contributions of indie bookstores. It is also a day for us to celebrate our phenomenal community of book-loving customers. As one small token of our appreciation, on Saturday we will be gifting each customer with their choice of one of the spiffy new book-themed pins we've purchased from Northern Sun. In addition, for each book purchased or special-ordered on that day, our patrons will earn a raffle ticket to enter our (first time ever!) drawing for a custom-curated Ballyhoo Basket Bundle!
Our special Indie Bookstore Day prize is designed to be "custom-curated," meaning the winner gets to personally select all the items for their prize package...and what’s better than browsing for a new book and other goodies?!
The winner will be able to make their own choice of:
an African Market Basket
any single book in the storefront
a Ballyhoo T-shirt
a Tin Literary Candle
a Ballyhoo mug (crafted by Diane Zakala)
a booklight or a book charm (crafted by Kevin Fitzgibbon)
a puzzle or a coloring Book
All raffle ticket entries must have a clearly printed name and phone number. The drawing will take place at the close of business on Saturday, April 30 and you do not need to be present to win.
We hope you will join us this Saturday to help us celebrate our very own special day!
Did you know?...
For every $1 you spend at a small business, 67cents is invested right back into the community.
...and indie bookstores are community resources that create safe spaces and give back to their neighborhoods.
"Hard fabulous things take a while to get good at." ~ Heather Sellers
Yes...it's really happening...
Despite the appearance of inertia, our planned coffee shop expansion is really and truly underway...it just turns out that this entire endeavor was far more complex and challenging than our intrepid but still learning the ropes proprietor ever imagined. You will begin to see some visible changes very soon and all we'll say about a projected opening date is that it's likely to be a very warm day...
Let April be April,
and let May be May.
And let yourself
You don't have to fix everything.
You don't have to solve everything.
And you can still find peace
in the wild
of changing things.
