Provide Sustaining Support to Ballyhoo!
This page gives customers of Ballyhoo Books & Brew the opportunity to become patrons of our work - to provide additional financial support to this spunky countercultural small business that believes in the world-changing possibility held in words used well. We are intentional about cultivating Ballyhoo as a welcoming and inclusive “third place” that provides safe space for both public dialogue and personal exploration. Your support helps us fulfill this mission.
We welcome donations of any amount to help us grow and sustain our efforts to both enhance literacy as well as to be an enabling resource for civic engagement; an "incubator for activists and changemakers." In the spirit of the late great Congressman John Lewis, who once said "Make some noise...get in good trouble. Necessary trouble." -we invite you to join our community of “Ballyhooligans!” – good troublemakers. If not us, who? If not now, when?
We have set this up to provide various options as to how to contribute. Donations can be made here through the website or directly at the Ballyhoo Books storefront checkout. You can also contribute by purchasing any of the Ballyhooligan! gear we have created (pictured below) in the storefront. Please note: the Ballyhooligan! tee shirt is only available in black at this time. We will be adding other options as we further develop this process...and as funds allow* - it is an ongoing work in progress.
The only membership-type option we have available at present (the kind that allows patrons to set up a monthly or annual contribution) is for you to become a paid subscriber to our weekly Substack publication, Being Ballyhoo. We have it set up that you can select your own donation amount beyond the minimums we have set for each level...if you so choose.
*As much as we wish it were otherwise, at present we lack the sufficient resources (staffing and revenue-wise) to provide gift options for all of the donations received. We hope to be able to plan some special event options for our wonderful patrons sometime in the not-too-distant future...to share with you our immense gratitude. We thank you in advance for your patience.
Thank you!
